Orthotics
Step out with confidence
After a comprehensive assessment of your feet, we may recommend an orthotic as part of your treatment plan. With the help of orthotics, we can alter, amend or support your foot function in order to reduce foot pain or pressure, correct biomechanical issues or strengthen alignment throughout your body. Essentially, an orthotic helps ensure that the parts of your foot are moving and are supported in the way that they should be! While some may require an orthotic as a long-term solution, for others it may be as part of their injury recovery plan alongside other treatment.
The objective of an orthotic is to have a solution made specifically for your foot. Just like a fingerprint, our feet are all unique to us, so it’s not surprising that shoes alone do not always provide the corrective support we need. For this reason, it’s important to work with a professional who can create a customised solution, based on a biomechanical assessment of your feet. We use a 3D scanner in our clinic to create an orthotic specifically for your foot. While we also have off-the-shelf solutions available, they may need modification, which is something we can assist with, too.
